A symptom is something the patient feels and describes, while a sign is something other people, such as the doctor or nurse might notice. For example, fatigue may be a symptom while dilated pupils may be a sign.
The hallmark symptoms of skin tags is a growth on the skin. The tag (growth) is generally small, although it may sometimes be up to half an inch or even more in diameter.
The skin tag may have a narrow stalk (peduncle).
